VW Beetle Baja Style Green Ecotec Powered 1965

This Baja-style Volkswagen Beetle is a running and driving project that was featured in the Netflix series Tex Mex Motors, at which time the car was fitted with a 2.4-liter Ecotec inline-four. A rack-and-pinion steering rack has been installed and the suspension has been modified with long-travel components including a widened front axle beam, extended front trailing arms, boxed rear trailing arms, Fox Racing shocks, and Jamar Performance hubs at all four corners.

Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with Jamar Performance calipers over directional rotors. Inside, a pair of Aces Racing seats and harnesses have been added along with a roll cage that ties into the front and rear suspension. A fiberglass dashboard panel has been installed and the shifter has been relocated rearward. The aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 3.5-inch Konnwei multi-function LCD display.

The radiator is mounted in the rear cargo area and features a body-color shroud and dual electric fans. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a VW Bus-sourced 091 six-rib four-speed manual transaxle with a hydraulic clutch slave cylinder.
