Toyota Hilux Pickup 1972

1972 Toyota Hilux Pickup

This Toyota Hilux is a US-market pickup that was refurbished in red over gray cloth upholstery under previous ownership in Canada and re-imported to the US. The second-generation Hilux debuted for 1972, and this truck was originally ordered in red (316). Silver-finished 14″ steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are mounted with older 195/75 Hankook whitewall tires.

Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel drums. The cabin features a reupholstered bench seat trimmed in gray cloth that is complemented by a black dashboard and door panel inserts. Additional appointments include lap belts, black rubber floor liners, a heater, a carpeted dashboard cover, and a Boman Astrosonix push-button radio.

A two-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and warning lights. The 2.0-liter 18R-C inline-four sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
