Renault Dauphine 4-Speed – Black 1959
1959 Renault Dauphine 4-Speed
This 1959 Renault Dauphine power comes from an 845cc inline-four fitted with a Solex carburetor, while shifting is through a four-speed manual transaxle. Renault produced the Dauphine for more than a decade and US sales crossed 100,000 units in 1959.
The two-spoke steering wheel has a cracked rim and frames Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a horizontal-sweep 75-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The instrument faces are yellowed, and the lettering printed on the back of the glass has deteriorated.
The five-digit odometer shows 21k miles. Output was rated at 27 horsepower from the factory. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.
