Mercedes 280SL – Silver 1971

1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL

The W113 SL was designed by Friedrich Geiger, Béla Barényi, and Paul Bracq and was introduced to the public at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show. Braking is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. Interior appointments include wood trim, an analog clock, replacement carpeting, a Frigiking air conditioner, a floor-mounted gear shifter, and a Becker Europa push-button AM/FM radio.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The 2.8-liter M130 inline-six features Bosch mechanical fuel injection. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.
