Fiat 500B Topolino Giardiniera 1949
This 1949 Fiat 500B Topolino Giardiniera was removed from a barn in 1996 and underwent a subsequent body-off refurbishment that involved a repaint in red, installation of replacement wood panels, a refresh of the interior in tan upholstery, and an engine overhaul.
Inside, front bucket seats are paired with a flat-folding rear bench and accompanied by a heater and sliding side windows. The 569cc inline-four is equipped with a single Weber carburetor and mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The car features an independent front suspension, telescopic shocks, semi-elliptical rear leaf springs, and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes.
Black rubber floor linings cover the floors, and the car is further appointed with a heater, sliding side windows, and woven kick panels. A two-spoke steering wheel fronts a central instrument panel housing a 110-km/h speedometer and a combination gauge monitoring oil pressure and fuel level. The rear bench folds forward to create a flat load floor.
The 569cc overhead-valve inline-four is mounted ahead of the front axle and fitted with a single Weber carburetor. Factory-rated output was 16.5 horsepower. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
