Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint 1960

1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint 5-Speed

This 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint is a left-hand-drive example that was delivered new to the UK before being relocated to Switzerland in the 1990s. A fire extinguisher is mounted behind the passenger seat, and the trunk-mounted battery is accompanied by a cutoff switch.

A wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel sits ahead of a Smiths 8k-rpm tachometer flanked by a Veglia 140-km/h speedometer and combination gauge. Smiths oil pressure and voltage gauges have been added under the dash, and an inoperative ammeter is mounted to the left of the instrument binnacle.

The replacement twin-cam inline-four was reportedly sourced from a 105 series GT 1300 Junior. It was overhauled and enlarged to 1.4L in 2021 by Besic Motorsports of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, using Wiseco pistons, Carillo rods, a ported and polished cylinder head, a custom oil pump, and a replacement oil pan and water pump. Additional equipment includes twin Weber 40 DCOE carburetors and a custom Pace Products aluminum radiator with an integrated oil cooler. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement five-speed manual transmission.
