Autozam AZ 1 Yellow 1992
1992 Autozam AZ-1
This 1992 Autozam AZ-1 is a right-hand-drive kei coupe that was purchased by the selling dealer in Japan in March 2024 and was subsequently imported to the US. The AZ-1 was built by Mazda and distributed via its Japanese-market Autozam dealership channel between 1992 and 1994, and it features plastic composite body panels with a hood scoop, gullwing doors, and straked radiator inlets. This example was delivered from the factory in Classic Red (SU) and was previously refinished in yellow. Interior appointments include crank windows, air conditioning, Pioneer-Carrozzeria speakers, and an aftermarket stereo with Bluetooth connectivity. The three-spoke steering wheel is situated at the right side of the cabin and fronts a 140-km/h speedometer and a tachometer with a 9k-rpm redline as well as gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 123k kilometers (~76k miles). The front trunk provides access to fluid reservoirs as well as housing a spare wheel and jack.
The mid-mounted turbocharged 657cc Suzuki F6A inline-three was factory rated at 64 horsepower 63 and lb-ft of torque. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle.
